Write Human: Build Your Literary Toolkit - Part Two


We often hear that your pitch has to be perfect or an agent won’t even open your opening chapters. This can be frustrating but it skips the more useful point: a pitch you can’t write is often a novel that hasn’t decided what it’s about.

 

In the second of three evenings at Bard Books, BPA directors Sara and Frances are joined by agents Kat Aitken and Seren Adams of Lexington Literary to look at what makes a strong pitch and synopsis – and at how the work of writing these can sharpen the book behind it. We’ll also get practical about AI: where it genuinely helps in shaping a pitch and synopsis, and why it can only help once you already know the heart of your story.
